The Rio Grande, called the Río Bravo (del Norte) in Mexico, is the fifth largest river on the North American continent. It extends from the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado to its mouth at the Gulf of Mexico, a total length of about 3100 km, passing through three states in the United States and four states in Mexico
