For the past five years, Galveston Bay received a “C” rating report card on its environmental condition. This is the first report after the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey.

On January 31, research scientist Dr. Erin Kinney presented “The Quiet Invasion: A Guide to the Invasive Species of the Galveston Bay Area” to The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. at HARC.
The City of Houston recognized the Galveston Bay Report Card program for its positive impact on the environment as part of its Keep Houston Beautiful initiative. A Certificate of Recognition was bestowed at the 33rd Annual Mayor's Proud Partners Luncheon held November 13, 2017.
The International Association of Business Communicators Southern Region recognized the efforts of the Galveston Bay Report Card program for its achievement in connecting science with the greater Houston/Galveston community.
