The application of combined heat and power (CHP) for microgrid applications is proving to be a great opportunity to reduce energy costs, save money and improve the resilience of the communities. There is considerable opportunity for the deployment of CHP in a microgrid setup mainly in critical infrastructure facilities . Satish Ravindran , a Senior Research Associate with HARC and Senior Engineer with Department of Energy’s Southwest CHP Technical Assistance Partnership (CHP TAP) led a webinar on the opportunities and applications of CHP in a microgrid setup. The CHP TAP can serve as a great resource for facilities considering implementing CHP systems and can help conduct no cost site screenings/analysis.
