HARC Works to Increase Distributed Generation Interconnection in Texas with Web-Based Tool
If you are looking to install a combined heat and power, solar power system or any other distributed energy system that is larger than 10 MW in Texas, the interconnection process to connect the system to the grid can be complex. With this in mind, HARC, with support and guidance from US Department of Energy, ERCOT and the Texas State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) put together a web-based tool that walks projects through the multi-phase interconnection process. The tool was put in place to help project developers better understand the steps of the interconnection process, as well as standard data and modeling requirements. Recently, the Department of Energy published a final report on this project that discusses the project goals, interconnection barriers and anticipated outcomes with the use of the tool.
