Dr. Erin Kinney presented the Invasive Species Field Guide to The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. January 31, 2018
On January 31, research scientist Dr. Erin Kinney presented “The Quiet Invasion: A Guide to the Invasive Species of the Galveston Bay Area” to The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N. at HARC. The audience of forty included members of the local environmental education network as well as local residents, master naturalists, scientists and educators who learned about the newly expanded and updated paper field guide and website www.GalvBayInvasives.org funded by TPWD. Discussion ranged from the difficulty of eradicating invasive plants from home gardens and history of invasive Chinese tallow trees in the region to the emerging threats of zebra mussels and lion fish in Texas waters.
