Bill Ritter, Jr. advances a new energy economy at HARC’s People & Nature Speaker Series

On October 24, 2017, HARC welcomed Bill Ritter, Jr., 41st Governor of Colorado and the founder of the Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University, to Houston to lead its fall People & Nature Speaker Series event. Governor Ritter discussed his book, Powering Forward – What Everyone Should Know About America’s Energy Revolution, which examines the future of fossil fuels and renewable energy. He shared his experiences in shaping Colorado’s policies and spoke of the need for both citizens and industry leaders to consider new ideas for sustainable resources at the state level. There is a sense of urgency for making the transition with the hope of influencing clean energy policies worldwide.

The conversation continued at a post-event reception at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Governor Ritter signed copies of Powering Forward. Special guests included a student group from the Energy Institute High School of Houston, Texas. The event was supported by the Jacob and Terese Hershey Foundation and Earth Share of Texas.
