Houston Air Quality Study Open House - Feb. 7, 2015
During the month of February, the Benzene and other Toxics Exposure (BEE-TEX) study is being conducted in the Manchester, Galena Park, and Milby Park Neighborhoods. The primary goal of the BEE-TEX study is to demonstrate new technologies to measure air pollution.

The study will be coordinated by HARC (Houston Advanced Research Center). Partners in the study include University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Aerodyne Research Inc., the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), the University of Houston (UH), and Rice University.
Collaborating institutions include Harris County, the Texas Environmental Research Consortium (TERC), the City of Houston, the Port of Houston Authority (PoHA), the Port Terminal Railroad Association (PTRA), the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and the Houston Regional Monitoring (HRM) network.
The study is funded by a grant from Harris County under a Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) award from the U.S. Department of the Interior.
