HARC celebrates a new milestone for Texas Climates News
Houston Advanced Research Center would like to celebrate a milestone for the Texas Climate News (TCN). In November 2008, the first edition of TCN was issued by Bill Dawson under the auspices of HARC and thanks to grants from Houston Endowment and the Brown Foundation. Since that initial issue, which provided in-depth analysis of the impacts of Hurricane Ike on the Houston region, Bill Dawson has continued to demonstrate his insight and skills for investigative reporting on topics related to climate change and Texas. His feature stories have illuminated a variety of issues related to climate, including an epic drought, and enlightened readers through interviews with thought leaders. HARC has continued to serve as publisher and provide some support for the electronic journal. Now TCN is passing an important milestone by launching as an independent nonprofit organization and a self-published journal. HARC is proud to have provided support and encouragement for this effort and wishes Texas Climate News and its editor Bill Dawson great success.
